UPDATE: 8/18/08 11:50PM ET – Doesnt look like Fay will make a direct hit to the Upstate but will linger in Georgia. Hopefully we’ll get some much needed rain from the storm. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at1+shtml/032224.shtml?5day?large#contents
ORIGINAL POST:
Fay, expected to reach hurricane strength, is projected to hit the Upstate South Carolina area late Thursday eve, 8/21/2008. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) located in Miami, FL has it as a Tropical Depression by the time it reaches the Upstate. A depression has maximum sustained winds of 32 mph or less according to the NHC site. Time to bring in the stuff from the backyard! Flying projectiles isn’t neighborly.
